Everyone Poops.

💩

The population of the town where we live is roughly 1,950.

We are fortunate to have a hospital, emergency room, lab, urgent care, dermatology, radiology, physical therapy and a medical clinic all in one building. I personally love it. Most specialties though, we have to drive an hour to the nearest bigger town.

Today, I had my annual checkup. As my PA was running through a checklist of things I need done, she arrived at the dreaded colonoscopy. I’ve been putting it off for years. Don’t yell at me. You’re afraid of spiders, I’m afraid of a tube stuck up my keister no matter how thin or flexible it claims to be.

With that said, I haven’t been completely colon negligent. Years ago, I ordered the Cologuard home test because I thought pooping into a plastic container, walking into the UPS store and handing them my #2 would be WAY more embarrassing but way less invasive. Honesty, now I’m starting to wonder which one is worse. 😳

So I told my very patient PA that I’d think about. We have to drive over an hour to have this procedure done and a colonoscopy road trip just doesn’t spark my interest.

BUT THEN, she tells me there is a new provider who now does them right at my favorite, comfy and friendly hospital/clinic! I was so excited, I immediately told her to put my name on the list. She just looked at me, smiled and I could see the thought bubble over her head saying…

“bless her heart”

So friends, my name is on the list and although it could be a few months before it’s my turn, I think I’ll be ready for my colon spa day and maybe , I’ll finally lose a few pounds.
